Farmers markets enable local producers to sell their own produce directly to the consumers on a regular basis. In Herefordshire, the produce sold includes fresh fruit and vegetables, fruit juices, wine, bread and cakes, eggs, meat and cheeses. All stallholders are members of HFMG – this enables high standards to be maintained for the produce being sold and gives reassurance to the consumers that the producers meet the national and local requirements to sell at farmers markets.
