Cllr Jim Kenyon is a Hereford boy through & through. He was born in Breinton on the edge of the City. He enjoyed growing up in the countryside, attending St Owen’s then St James School and finally Bishop’s School. In 1985 he joined the army and learnt a trade with the Royal Corps of Transport, later moving to Germany and serving with the British Army of the Rhine. In 1989 he joined Airborne Forces serving with 5 Airborne Brigade. Always up for a challenge, he served across the world in various theatres until leaving after a parachute accident in 2000.
On leaving the army, Jim decided he had drunk in enough pubs across the world that it might be fun to run one, so bought the Victory Pub and opened up the Spinning Dog Brewery, latterly know as Hereford Brewery that was 16 years ago and it is still going strong.
He has been involved in raising funds for many charities over the years and became a City and County Councillor five years ago, around the same time as he helped set up the Central Tupsley Community Group which is still going strong & does a huge amount of work for the community he serves.
He has 4 children and 2 grandchildren who play a huge part in his life and keep him real every single day.
Jim is very passionate about the City of Hereford and is looking forward to serving it, but also having a little fun along the way.
The Charities he has chosen to support and raise awareness for:- Wheeled Sports 4 Hereford, Hereford Veterans Support & Ely.
