Dillenburg (Castle on the Dill) is situated in the German State of Hessen, on the German-Dutch holiday route called the Orange Route, joining towns, cities and regions associated with the House of Orange-Nassau. It lies north of Frankfurt on the river Dill, from which it derives its name.

Seven villages form part of this diverse municipality and is a lively, busy place of some 25,000 inhabitants offering the visitor a wide range of visitor attractions and opportunities for sporting activities.

It’s historic landmarks such as Wilhelmsturm (William’s Tower) high over the town on the Schlossberg (Castle Hill) and the many half-timbered houses testify to its rich and varied history.
